D.MILANO - the Italian history of high heels
Each season, designers introduce not only the newest footwear models but also the newest color trends. A great example of this is the revival of the classic color combination of black, red, and beige. A brand that perfectly incorporates this combo is D.Milano - new at DOLITA!
The language of fashion that this brand speaks only reminds us once again that such colors and shapes are an eternal classic. You’ll find everything from classic black sandals to snakeskin-print ankle boots. Each footwear model makes it clear that not a single minor detail of D.Milano will remain unnoticed.
D.Milano is an exclusive women’s footwear brand founded by two brothers - Pasquale and Giovanni Della Pia. The designers, who are from the Italian region of Campania, create footwear that can easily be called artwork. These shoes are meant for an extravagant woman who wishes to remain stylish each and every season.
This philosophy of the company is also reflected in the logo: the circle symbolizes the change that provides fullness and harmony. Women who wear their shoes are not seen merely as a group by the designers. They are more like a space open to all women who wish to stand out each season. D.Milano shoes are manufactured in a family factory with long-standing traditions that was founded more than 80 years ago in Naples, Campania.
Each pair of D.Milano shoes is hand-made. This is a process that requires many different steps in footwear production, combining the skills, competences, and passion the craftsmen have for footwear. The footwear factory employs long-standing craftsmen and their families.
After receiving sketches from the design studio, the craftsmen transfer the stylistic ideas of the designers onto a last to create a prototype. The shapes of the sketched shoes are created by using special machines that create unique lasts. Throughout this process, old traditions are combined with innovative technologies.
Special water-based glue and rebar are used for gluing the shoes, and a layer of wool is placed inside the shoe for a softer base and maximum, naturally-created comfort.
